Please have a look through all these frequently asked questions first. We have tried to cover most topics we expect you may be wondering about. If you cannot find what you are looking for, then please feel free to contact us.

  • Pride & Progress Retreat is a three-day weekend gathering of recovering LGBTQ addicts seeking recovery from substance-use, spiritual growth and strengthening connection within Narcotics Anonymous.

    We meet once a year in the English countryside for recovery meetings, workshops on NA literature and recovery related topics, fitness and wellness activities, shared meals together, time to relax, hang out, and get to know each other.

  • The retreat starts early evening Friday 23rd July, 2027 and finishes after lunch Sunday 25rd July, 2027

  • The retreat takes place at:

    West Lexham Retreat Centre, West Lexham Manor, Near. Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE32 2QN, United Kingdom

  • All attendees must be at least 18 years of age.

  • We provide a shuttle bus from East London direct to the retreat on Friday 23rd July, 2027 afternoon, and back again on Sunday 25th July, 2027.

    You can drive there yourself, there is plenty of parking on site at West Lexham.

    By public transport, take the train to Kings Lynn station on the National Rail network and then take a taxi to West Lexham. Kings Lynn is on the rail line from King’s Cross in London that passes through Cambridge.

    We suggest booking a taxi in advance, especially to get back to the station from the retreat.

  • Driving from London: 1h45m - 2h30m (depending on traffic)

    Driving from Birmingham: 2h30-3h (depending on traffic)

    Train from London King’s Cross to Kings Lynn station: 1h41m

    Taxi/driving from Kings Lynn station: 30m

  • There will be two ticket releases.

    First release: Summer 2026

    Second release: Early 2027

    Please do register as early as possible to avoid disappointment. In each release, all tickets are first-come first-served.

  • All NA members are welcome at Pride & Progress Retreat.

    However, we are creating a LGBTQ-led, supportive environment and as such we ask that all who attend show kindness, tolerance and respect for each other.

  • ‍We have a variety of different ticket options for the retreat. All ticket options include lodging, all your meals plus tea, coffee, snacks, and access to all of the meetings, workshops and activities over the weekend, as well as bus transfer from London.

    Single-occupancy bedroom = GBP £495.00

    Shared bedroom, treehouse or cabin = GBP £375.00

    Shared bell-tent with shared washhouse access = GBP £340.00

  • We provide everything we think you’ll need during the weekend, included in the registration and ticket price. We provide all your meals, tea, coffee, snacks, bedding, towels, WiFi.

    You may want to bring some money to buy merchandise, or to give to the Seventh Tradition collection.

  • Sleeping arrangements include single-occupancy bedrooms, shared rooms with individual beds, shared double beds & shared tents.

    We will allocate rooms trying our best to give attention to all of your rooming wishes made when you book & register. If you wish to share a room with someone, please make sure you both/all book the same accommodation type and ticket price tier, and list each other as desired roommates in the booking form.

    Within your room, the specific sleeping arrangements are for you and your roommate(s) to decide.

    Please note, we cannot guarantee all of your rooming wishes can be accommodated.

  • Yes, there are 3x fully accessible bedrooms.

    Please let us know if you have any access requirements in the registration form, or contact us if you would like to discuss before booking.

  • All our treehouses and cabins are heated.

    The bell tents are unheated, with hot water bottles available to keep you warm if needed.

  • Our organising committee is made up of LGBTQ members of NA and we are fully self-supporting.

    In this first year of Pride & Progress Retreat we do not currently have any vacant service positions on the main organising committee. However if you’d like to be of service and support us during the retreat in other ways, please do contact us and we’d love to get to know each other.

  • British summers can be unpredictable, as anyone who has watched the Wimbledon tennis championships will know… We can have all four seasons in one day - so come prepared!

    ·      T-shirts, shorts & sunscreen.

    ·      Sportswear, athleisure (or leotards!!) for yoga, HIIT, breathwork and other workshops

    ·      Hiking boots or comfy trainers for walking/hiking.

    ·      Swimwear for the pool and lake.

    ·      At least one warm jumper or jacket.

    ·      A raincoat - just in case!

  • Yes, West Lexham provides one towel per person to be used for washing either in your ensuite or in the garden washhouse. If you are going to be wild swimming or heading to the beach, we do recommend you bring extra towels please.

  • No, there are no laundry facilities on site for us to use during the retreat.

  • We can accommodate up to 90 people.

  • West Lexham can cater for all standard allergens, and will do their best to accommodate other dietary requirements but cannot guarantee all requests will be possible. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are always available, ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience.

    Please add this information to your booking when registering for the retreat.

  • Yes, the swimming pool at West Lexham will be open whilst we are there.

  • Yes, it’s possible to swim in the lake.

    There are also some rowboats we can use if you’d like something more serene!

  • No, there is no gym at West Lexham.

    However, we have our own HIIT, yoga and meditation classes on both Saturday + Sunday mornings, plus time allocated for swimming.

    There are also silent hikes on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, for those who would like to join.

  • No, this is a fully abstinent drug-free event (this includes alcohol, read: sober), following the traditions and guidance of Narcotics Anonymous.

    We welcome newcomers to the programme and those back from a relapse, however anyone found bringing drugs/alcohol to the retreat, or using on site will be asked to leave.

  • No, sadly pets are not allowed at the retreat. Animals are not permitted unless you have notified us that you may would like to bring a certified support animal.

  • All of your meals will be provided in the farm-to-fork café at West Lexham during the retreat. Tea, coffee and snacks are also provided throughout the day - all included in your ticket price.

    If you’d like to bring your own non-perishable snacks with you, you may do so, of course. Please be mindful that not all rooms have fridges, and that the bell tents are just that - tents, and not bedrooms!

  • There is WiFi on site at West Lexham, however not all areas of the site are covered including some of the bell tents, treehouses and cabins.

    At Pride & Progress Retreat we ask, and prefer that mobile phones and other technology use are limited as much as possible especially in public shared areas to encourage escape from our daily lives and maximise in-person human connection when we are together.

  • As spaces on the retreat are limited all bookings and registration are final. We will not be able to refund or reimburse any bookings that have been made.
